Fully Skilled Machinist required to manufacture bespoke component parts for use in World Class Education and Research. 

You will be able to use your considerable skills and experience to manufacture complex and high precision work, machining components from specialist materials using a range of conventional machine tools such as Centre Lathes, Vertical Mills and Surface Grinders. Ideally with experience of CNC machining including multi-axis CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, WaterJet Cutters and Wire EDM. The ability to program, set and operate would be highly beneficial although training will be provided. Additional skills utilising Robot Arms and Metal Additive Manufacturing would be welcomed. You will also possess excellent hand skills.

We are looking for someone who is excited at the thought of joining a team at the forefront of Engineering Education and Research at one of the UK’s top Universities, manufacturing parts that will be used in all environments from beneath the oceans to outer space and everything in between. 

You will need to have excellent communication and time management skills and be able to work to tight tolerances and be comfortable in independently producing one off component parts to Engineering drawings.
